How do I buy an item?
It's simple! Once you find an item you like, click the "Buy via WhatsApp" button. This will
automatically open a chat with the seller and pre-fill a message with the exact product
details, so you can easily arrange payment and delivery directly with them.
Are the sellers verified?
We manually review stores to ensure quality. Look for the blue "Verified" checkmark next to
a seller's name! However, since transactions happen directly between you and the seller on
WhatsApp, we always recommend practicing standard online safety (e.g., paying on delivery
when possible).
Do I need an account to buy?
No, you can browse and contact sellers without an account. However, creating a free Shopper
account allows you to save your favorite stores, leave reviews, and get notified about
exclusive drops.
For Sellers
How much does it cost to open a store?
Opening a basic storefront on StatusShelf is 100% free, and we take exactly 0% commission on
your sales. You keep all the money you make.
How do I get paid?
StatusShelf acts as a discovery engine, not a payment processor. Customers contact you
directly via WhatsApp to place their orders, meaning you get paid directly via Mobile Money,
bank transfer, or cash on delivery—whatever works best for your business.
How do I get the Verified Badge?
Verified Badges are awarded to sellers who fully complete their profiles, upload clear
product images, and maintain a positive track record with buyers. You can request
verification from your Seller Dashboard once your store is fully set up.
